The jpegs are fine. It's the sample and copyright shit that ruined it.

Add some copyright watermarks and it'll be even better.

Some of the desktops in here reminds me of those websites that use highly contrasting images as background and glowing text in an ugly font.

I don't care about how my desktop looks like; I only care about it as an easy-to-access place to find stuff. So I put lots of stuff on it — I can find those things instantly (I know where in the desktop they are); but yes, it looks ugly to most people.

on my previous pc (there's probably a pic of its desktop somewhere in this thread), it was mainly barren of folders and stuff because i pretty much kept everything into one folder
i decided to start using my desktop as a desktop and put folders out in the open instead of having them all in one place for convenience (less clicking needed)
i do, however, refrain from putting my emulators/video games out on my desktop because in the former case i have them all neatly organized by console in their own folder, and in the latter case i'd just open up my steam library/my games folder (especially when it helps to have the game's folders with all its files opened already, in the case i need to mess around with the config or some other shit)

I found this on 1984's Wikipedia page, so I'd assume it's that:
