maybe the automatic  pm system could tell when an user post is deleted so it could reduse the amount of threads asking why there post been deleted

That's actually a really good idea. It helps in fostering the connection between mods and shitposters members too.

well you wouldn't know if you had them deleted or not, since you don't get a notification if they are deleted =)))))

So do I. But I looked just about everywhere for a plugin to do this before opening the forum, without being able to find one.

If anyone knows of a good way of doing this, please let me know. (Note: this is MyBB 1.8.5. The MyBB plugin website for 1.6 does not work here.)

Would it be possible to just edit posts saying "content removed for x" so everyone can see?

Completely ineffective in most cases; the most common cause of deletion is spam to increase post count. Besides, the idea is not to draw attention to deleted posts; it's only to notify the person who made the post that it was deleted.

Sadly, there's no way of doing that.

There is. You could just PM the user.

When it is a really obscure case, or a situation that won't be clear without a message, I do PM the user.
Otherwise, deleting a post is just too frequent to do this, sadly.
