Founding turing.sed, I am enjoying competitive programming in sed now.
Also what a good addition programming this is.

PS. the program seems to take too long time against such a big number, like nine-digits.

It takes too long because of how it works. Look at the code! It expands every number into as many | characters as the number itself, and operates by adding or removing pipes. So 13 + 4 actually becomes ||||||||||||| concatenated with ||||, which becomes |||||||||||||||||, which the script then parses back as 17.
If you use a big nine-digit number, you're creating hundreds of millions of pipes!
